Firefighters at work on the Ramelton Road earlier after a fire broke out near the Aldi car park.

FIREFIGHTERS are at the scene of a fire on a vacant lot next to Letterkenny’s Aldi car park.

Large plumes of smoke could be seen over the town for a period this afternoon after the fire latched on to hedgerows and grassland on the Ramelton Road.

It is not clear at this stage what caused the blaze.
