Finn Harps 2 Sligo Rovers 1
Two goals from Patrick Ferry gave Finn Harps the win over North West rivals Sligo Rovers in their final pre-season friendly at Finn Park.
Wilson Waweru gave Sligo the lead with a curling effort inside the opening ten minutes but on the quarter of an hour mark Ferry met Aaron McLaughlin’s cross with a diving header at the back post to level.
Ferry got his second as he got on the end of a Success Edogun cross again at the back post as he slid in to meet the ball.
Simon Power hit the post for the visitors with ten minutes to go but Darren Murphy’s men were comfortable in holding on for the win.
The first game of the First Division will see the Harps travel to Longford Town on Saturday, February 17.
