YOUNG Shane O’Rourke may not yet be regarded as a St Catherine’s legend, but he’ll never be forgotten after scoring the goal which clinched the Double at Diamond Park, Ballyare, this afternoon.
The men from Killybegs won the Donegal League title with a bit to spare last month but Brian Dorrian’s side had to rely on O’Rourke’s late, late winner to complete the season unbeaten.
Few begrudged Dorrian’s side its success. After all, they had lit up the Premiership with their dynamic quick-passing game, scoring in all bar one league game en route to the title but yesterday was different.
Trailing to an early Ian Ward goal, St Catherine’s forced home an equalising goal through Daniewl Breslin on 38 minutes before O’Rourke’s late, late strike.
