Doochary Village honours retiring postwoman Pat

DOOCHARY Village honoured their local Postwoman Pat McGettigan this week ahead of her retirement.

Doochary Development-Tidy Towns wanted to thank Pat for her many years of service to the village.

Committee member Andrea said Pat brought a morning smile and was pure joy to see.

“She was adored by my dogs, who she had a wee chat to every morning.

“I am heartbroken she’s retiring and I hope she has a wonderful new chapter in her life,” she said.

Another said Pat took special concern for everyone in the village, especially the older residents.

“She was more to us than a postwoman, she was a wonderful friend.

“Many residents lived in isolated areas and she made it up to their doors in all weathers and checked in on them daily,” they concluded.
