Donegal Youth Service receive €50,000 boost

Donegal Youth Service CLG has been allocated €50,000 to undertake a countywide assessment of the needs of children and young people across the county.

The Youth Service, based on the Port Road in Letterkenny, was one of 13 organisations to receive funding from the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman under the What Works 2023 Building Evidence Fund.

The Fund’s goal is to promote the collection and use of data in prevention and early intervention services on activities and outcomes for children and young people; and to support the development and application of skills for effective monitoring, evaluation and analysis of prevention and early intervention services.

Donegal Youth Service will use the money to conduct a countywide children and young people’s needs assessment to gain a comprehensive insight into the challenges facing children, young people and their families in Donegal and the availability and capacity of services to ensure that appropriate supports become available.

Other organisations that received funding nationwide include Jigsaw, Belong To Youth Services and Barnardos Ireland, among others.
