Donegal travel to Tipp

DONEGAL will aim to make it three from three when they travel to Tipperary this Sunday.

Declan Bonner’s team are currently leading Division 2 after recording wins over Clare and Meath.

Tipp are struggling this spring, and prop up the second tier at the moment.

However, Bonner is still wary of their threat, and he acknowledges that it has been a very competitive league so far.

“There are no easy games. If you look at Division 2, every team is taking points off each other.

“In the first number of games that have been played, half of them have ended in draws. There were two draws the first Sunday, and two more the last day.

“They go down to the wire and it will probably go down to the wire this weekend.

“Tipperary are probably short a number of first choice players, no more than ourselves.

“We were back training last night (Monday) to get ready for another tough match, and it would be a nice two points to get down there, especially with the break coming in, and it would leave us in a really good position.”

Bonner had five players involved in the Sigerson Cup during the week, and was hoping they would come through unscathed.

The Na Rossa clubman says Michael Langan should be fit after he was replaced last week, while he was coy on whether or not Paddy McGrath will feature.

“He is very, very close. That’s all I can say. We’re training again on Thursday and will make a decision on it then. He’s close to being back.”
