SEVEN Donegal businesses made settlements with the Revenue in the last quarter of 2014 totally €498,795, according to figures published this week.
Owen Coyle of Cloghore, Ballyshannon, vehicle body repairer agreed a settlement of €40,130 following an underdeclaration of Income Tax and VAT was found during a Revenue Audit.
D&O Seafoods Ltd of Burtonport, Fish Processors agreed a settlement of €145,412. on foot of an underdeclaration of VAT following a Revenue Audit Case.
Charles Doherty of Drimarone, Letterbarrow, a haulier agreed to pay €55,472.72 when a Revenue Audit found an underdeclaration of VAT.
Vincent Gildea of Correnagh, Letterkenny, a Taxi operator made a settlement €36,297.00 on foot of an underdeclaration of Capital Gains Tax discovered during a Revenue Audit.
Gordons Developments (Lettergull) Ltd., Lettergull, St Johnston, Construction contractors made a settlement of €77,696.34 after an underdeclaration of VAT was found during a Revenue Audit.
Trawbreaga Bay Construction Ltd, Ardagh, Clonmany, Construction contractors, agreed a settlement of €59,477.61 on foot of an underdeclaration of VAT discovered during a Revenue Audit.
Brendan Whoriskey, Cashelard, Ballyshannon made a settlement of €84,311.00 on foot of a Revenue Audit which found an underdeclaration of VAT & Income Tax.
In the three-month period from October to December 2014, the names of 99 defaulting taxpayers were published. The settlements in these cases totalled €23.13 million
Of the 99 published cases, 35 were for amounts exceeding €100,000; of which eight exceeded €500,000; six exceeded €1million.
Two of the 99 settlements published, yielding €0.6m, relate to Revenue’s investigation into Offshore Assets/Funds.
