According to AIB’s analysis Christmas spending will peak on the Saturday before the big day, with shoppers spending three times what they would normally spend on groceries.

And men will spend twice as much as women on that day, according to the AIB Christmas Spend Trend.

It is predicted that lunchtime on Saturday, December 23 will be the busiest shopping period of the year – between 12pm and 1pm, more than €12m will be spent.
