Donegal overcome slow start to win

Donegal manager Declan Bonner said he was never overly concerned when his side made a slow start to Sunday’s championship game.

It took Bonner’s charges 18 minutes to score, and their decision-making early on was far from ideal.

However, the visitors never panicked and they kicked the scores they needed in the second half to win the match.

“There was a breeze factor and it was difficult to score in those top goals but I felt we tagged on a number of scores.

“We were pleased with that second half because we knew a number of gaps would appear and once they did, the likes of Paddy McBrearty, Michael (Murphy) and Ciaran Thompson were well capable of taking their scores.”
