Donegal destroy Down to reach Ulster Final

Donegal 2-22 Down 1-12

Donegal are through to the Ulster Final after they produced a scintillating performance to defeat Down in Clones.

Declan Bonner’s men made a great start and kicked the first four points of the match, before Neil McGee received a straight red card.

Donegal didn’t panic and they then added 1-4 to their tally without reply, with Leo McLoone scoring the goal.

Down improved before half-time but Donegal were still in control at the break.

HT: Donegal 1-12 Down 0-7

Down needed a bright start to the second half, but they didn’t get it, and Jamie Brennan killed off the contest with a goal in the 45th minute.

Niall Donnelly scored a late goal for Down but Donegal still won by 13 points and set up an Ulster Final against Fermanagh on June 24.
