BALLYBOFEY man Eunan Devenney shattered the world record for consecutively hitting a punchbag at the weekend as he completed a marathon 45 hours and 4 minutes at the bag in the Twin Towns ABC gym on Saturday morning.

Island for sale at €1 million

Inishdooey Island three miles off Magheraroarty was advertised in the Sunday Times by a German and Canadian based firm which specialises in selling islands.
Vladi Private Islands describes Inishdooey Island as Inishdooey “part of a string of four islands, off the north western part of the Irish coast, the Donegal Archipelago.
The other islands are Tory Island, Inishbeg Island and Inishbofin Island, which is the closest to shore. Inishdooey Island lies three miles off the mainland and is endowed with stunning views, a rich heritage, and a natural unspoiled landscape”.
The Donegal News this week tracked down the owner of Inishdooey Island, Mark McClafferty who is from Falcarragh. He is currently based in London and is a long-distance lorry driver.


Minister in Donegal to boost marine jobs

MINISTER for Agriculture, Food and Marine Simon Coveney TD will visit Donegal next Thursday and Friday in an effort to boost the aquaculture and food industry here.
Deputy Joe McHugh confirmed the visit saying Minister Coveney has the ambition to drive Donegal’s food production industry.
The minister will meet with management at Marine Harvest in Fanad to discuss licensing for the salmon farming industry which has the potential to double its turnover to €120 million.
