Bonner can’t wait for new WAFL season

Yvonne Bonner is back home in Donegal as she gears up for her second season as a professional Aussie Rules footballer Down Under.

The Glenfin girl was one of the real success stories for the Greater Western Sydney Giants last term. She was a regular goal scorer and she capped off an amazing debut season by collecting the club’s ‘Goal of the Year’ accolade for her superb effort against Carlton.

The aim for Bonner and the Giants ahead of the 2020 campaign will be to better their third place finish in Conference B of the AFLW ladder this year.

“Definitely – I’m looking forward to getting back and for pre-season,” she told the Donegal News. “Being honest, I didn’t really know what was ahead of me last year. It was a little bit of heading into the unknown…
