Body of Donegal man found in Scotland

The body of missing Donegal man Daniel McLaughlin has been found in Scotland.

Daniel McLaughlin (74) was last seen at his home in Quigley’s Point in June.

However, Gardaí have now confirmed that a body found in Scotland last month is that of the missing Inishowen man.

A Garda spokesperson said, “Following the recovery of a body at the port of Cairnryan, Scotland on July 1 2023 and confirmed DNA analysis by Police Scotland, the missing person appeal in respect of Daniel McLaughlin has been stood down.”

Gardai have thanked the media and the public for their assistance.
