Alcorn hoping to defend class crown at Galway Rally

MARK Alcorn is hoping to defend his crown in the Galway International Rally this weekend.

The Gartan man won the modified 2wd section 12 months ago along with John O’Donnell, but the stages have changed this year and it will be a bit of new territory.

There are eight stages on Saturday around the areas of Kilcoona, Caherlistrane and Kilbeg north of Galway City, while the stages of Belleville and Colmanstown will be tackled three times each on the Sunday.

And while it’s a change of scenery, Alcorn is looking to take top honours in the Class 14 once again.
