The programme includes activities such as team sports, dancing classes, social events, and activity challenges. The programme hopes to improve the awareness and understanding of mental health through mindfulness and wellness activities.

Commenting on the launch of ‘Active Arranmore’, Margaret Larkin, Community Development Manager, DLDC, said: “DLDC is delighted to facilitate this initiative on Arranmore. The island has great facilities and stunning natural infrastructure and the additional support offered through the coordination of health and wellbeing activities will help residents of the island access those facilities in a more sustained and accessible way”.

Commenting on Donegal Sports Partnership (DSP) support of the ‘Active Arranmore’, Myles Sweeney Coordinator, Donegal Sports Partnership, said: “The DSP welcome this investment in developing the ‘Active Arranmore’ programme and the collaboration with the various agencies and local community to provide many engaging health and wellbeing opportunities for the local community”.
