A ZERO tolerance approach to disturbance to residents, businesses and parking infringement offences will be in place during Summer Sessions Letterkenny, gardaí have warned.
The four-day music extravaganza event kicks off today with headliners Kneecap.
Fresh from their hugely successful Box Office opening night of their biopic film of the same name, the Irish language rap group made up of Mo Chara and Móglaí Bap from Belfast, and Derry man, DJ Próvaí take to the Big Top stage in Kiltoy tonight.
Other acts to perform this evening include The Scratch and Shane Codd.
The stellar line up continues with Dance Night featuring (A-Z) Bryan Kearney, who will take to the stage tomorrow night, while The Wolfe Tones with special guests Brogeal, Gearoid McCarthy and Gary Og will be performing on Saturday. Qween featuring Dublin Gospel Choir with special guests, Guns Reloaded will take to the stage on Sunday.
Gardaí have been working closely with the organisers of the event and numerous State agencies to ensure the event is both an enjoyable and safe one for all patrons.
A garda spokesperson said: “In order to ensure as little disturbance to local stakeholders and residents as possible, gardaí will be adopting a zero tolerance approach to parking infringements in the environs of the venue.
“Patrons are asked not to park on the N56 Ballyraine to Knocknamona roundabout, Gortlee road, Kiltoy road or in any other area which may cause disruption to local residents. Do not park in an illegal manner and ensure that you are not blocking access for emergency services. Several park and ride services will be available, which are being organised by event management and these should be utilised where possible. These services will be advertised on all of the Summer Sessions social media pages.”
