Youths ignite firework into letterbox

GARDAÍ are seeking dash-cam footage after two youths placed an ignited firework into the letterbox of a house in Ballybofey.

The incident of criminal damage occurred in the area of Blue Cedars, Ballybofey, on Saturday, November 8 at 7.15pm.

A garda spokesperson said: “Two youths were reported to have approached a house in that area. They proceeded to place an ignited firework into the letterbox. The firework exploded and caused damage to the letterbox. Thankfully, the damage was not as bad as it very well could have been.

“We urge anyone who may have travelled within Blue Cedars on that date with a dash-cam between 7pm and 7.30pm, to get in touch with Gardaí in Ballyshannon on 071-9858530. If anyone seen two youths in foot in that area on Saturday evening or if they can assist with any relevant information, we ask them to please make contact with us.
