Young man fighting for his life

A YOUNG man is fighting for his life at Letterkenny General Hospital following a single vehicle accident in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The crash happened at Ballyholey Far, Raphoe at 2.30 am on a straight stretch of road.
The two  occupants of the car were taken to hospital and the passenger is reported to have been in a critical condition, while the driver sustained minor injuries.
The silver Peugeot 205 was travelling on the N14 near Galdonagh off the main Letterkenny to Lifford road when the crash happened.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene and the fire services had to cut the roof of the car which came to rest in an almost vertical position on the banking at the side of the road.
The passenger’s condition is said to be serious but stable in hospital.
Gardai closed the road yesterday morning as the forensic collision investigation team examined the scene and it did not re-opened until late afternoon.
Gardai have appealed for anyone who may have seen the vehicle around the area where the  crash occurred to get in touch with them at Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 9167100 .
