ESSENTIAL renovation works at Falcarragh Community Hospital are expected to be fully completed by the end of next year.
The HSE Estates Department has advised that the initial phase of works are due to finish by the first quarter (January to March) of 2024, with the overall project expected to be completed by Quarter 4 of the same year.
Councillor Michael McClafferty told the Donegal News he is delighted with the update from officials.
He said the essential works had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The contractor has commenced on site and works have started this week on Falcarragh Community Hospital. A section of it has been closed since Covid time with the loss of 20 beds and all step down care and respite care.
“I want to welcome these much-needed works to be carried out for both patients and staff locally to return to their posts once again when it is complete.”
