WORK began to repair damage to the pathway up Errigal Mountain on Wednesday and it is expected to continue for a number of weeks.
Those planning to climb the mountain are being advised that there will be limited car parking at the bottom and machinery will be on site.
The recently improved path was badly damaged in May after very heavy rainfall last month washed sections away. The pathway was constructed recently at a cost of €630,000
The damaged sections of path will be cordoned off and may affect people’s plans to climb the county’s highest mountain.
Scottish contractors McGowan Environmental Engineering had constructed 340 metres of pathway and 170 metres of stone steps leading to the summit.
