Wonderful talent at Finn Valley College’s Variety Concert

The annual Finn Valley College Christmas Variety Show went down a storm at the Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey as over 70 staff and students took to the boards over three sold out nights with their themed Rock N’ Roll performances.

Audiences were treated to some great acts ranging from the 1950s to the ‘nowzies’ as MCs Abbie Cassidy and Amy Lyttle took them on a journey with artists as diverse as Elvis to Queenshowcased.

Highlights included the ever popular John Gregg who gave the crowd a history of early rocker Buddy Holly in song and words as well as the opening number ‘Let Me Entertain You’ anchored by third year student Ellie Mae McGavigan not to mention the Divas.

Staff acts included SNAs, Edel Temple, Sharon Scanlon and Jennifer McDermott as The Auld Biddies complete with Surf Boards and guitars as they exited to the Beach Boys classic, I Get Around as well as the Three Elvises!

Outgoing principal at the Stranorlar school, Alan Thompson paid tribute to the core staff team behind the show whohave been rehearsing the 24 acts since September.

Thanks were also extended to the staffof the Balor, parents and all the FVC staff who made the show possible.
