THE Donegal Women in Business Network has elected Noeleen McAteer, owner
of The Acupuncture Clinic & Chinese Herbs in Letterkenny, as president at its AGM.
A member of the Network since 2009, Ms McAteer joined the steering group of Donegal Women in Business in 2010 to help organise the network’s calendar of events and promote membership of the network.
Ms McAteer said: “I am honoured to have been elected as the new President of the Donegal Women in Business Network.
“The network has a great track record of helping businesswomen in Donegal and I plan to work hard to continue that success.”
Originally from Louth, Ms McAteer is a graduate of Middlesex University and Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, obtaining a degree in Science and Chinese Medicine.
Whilst completing her degree she also did a Diploma in Tuina massage at the Asante Clinic of Chinese Medicine in London.
After working in the pain and maternity clinics at Whittington Hospital, London, Ms McAteer developed a special interest in using acupuncture, acupressure and Chinese herbs in pain management and during pregnancy and labour.
She then spent five months on a work placement in Beijing. After completing her training Ms McAteer ran a successful practice in Galway for 4 years before relocating to Donegal with her husband, Ramelton-native Paddy.
Ms McAteer then set up a new practice, The Acupuncture Clinic & Chinese Herbs, on Port Road Letterkenny where she specialises in the clinical practice of all aspects of Chinese medicine to treat infertility, pregnancy, pain disorders and sports injuries.
She has also recently added baby massage and baby yoga classes to the services on offer.
Membership of the Donegal Women in Business is open to both women working in business and business-owners.
