Women in Public Life seminar

THE issue of gender equality in public life will be discussed at a seminar next month to be hosted by three female MEPS.
MEP Marian Harkin will be joined by Northern Ireland MEPs Bairbre de Brún of Sinn Féin and Diane Dodds of the Democratic Unionist Party at the Waterfoot Hotel in Derry.
The seminar will look at where are women at in Europe and how can they engage more effectively with the EU?
Attendees will have the opportunity to find out more about current EU gender equality strategies, the European Women’s Lobby and how women’s groups can engage at a European level and influence their MEP.
The seminar  takes place on Monday June 13 from 10.00 am until 1.30 pm.

Women into Public Life is funded under the INTERREG IVA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) www.seupb.eu for a programme of activities to be delivered over three years.
Three women’s organisations are involved: Foyle Women’s Information Network (Derry/Londonderry), Engender (Scotland) and Second Chance Education Project for Women (Donegal). Donegal County Council is the lead public partner.
