Woman who died in St. Johnston traffic collision to be laid to rest today 

THE funeral of Patricia McBrearty, who died in a road traffic collision in St. Johnston on Friday, will take place this morning.

Ms McBrearty, who was in her 80s, was struck by a lorry on Church Street shortly after lunchtime on Friday, August 30.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.

Her death has been met by shock and deep sadness within the local community and among her family and many friends.

Funeral Cortege will be leaving Church St, St Johnston at 10.30am today, Wednesday, September 4 going to St Baithin’s Church, St Johnston for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. 

Ms McBrearty is the wife of the late Paddy and loving mother of Brian (Majella), Tina (Ciaran) and Susie (Geoff), adoring grandmother of Cara, Hannah, PJ and Eimear, sister of Anne Strain (Burnfoot) and late Elizabeth Kavanagh (Fahan) and much loved larger circle of family and friends.
