Woman injured in row over taxi in Ballybofey

GARDAÍ are investigating an alleged assault on a woman following a row between a number of people over a taxi.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an alleged assault that occurred at Main Street in Ballybofey, near the AIB Bank, between1.30am and 2am on Wednesday, January 1.

A row broke out at that location between a group of males and a group of females over a taxi that had just pulled in.

One of the females reported that she was assaulted by one of the males during the row. She sustained injuries, none of which are life threatening in nature.

A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have travelled on the Main Street between those times with a dash cam to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100. Should anybody have relevant information, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny or to contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
