Witnesses urged to come forward following fatal St Johnston collision

GARDAÍ have renewed their appeal for witnesses following last week’s fatal road traffic collision in St Johnston.

Gardaí attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in the village of St. Johnston, on Friday, August 30.

A garda spokesperson said: “Shortly after 2 pm., gardaí and emergency services were alerted after a woman in her 80’s was struck by a lorry on Church Street in the village. She was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later. The lorry driver was uninjured.”

Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing for witnesses of the collision to come forward.

“Any road users who have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the area of St. Johnston at the time of the collision are asked to make this footage available to the investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Letterkenny Garda Station on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
