Wind warning issued ahead of Storm Hector

A STATUS Orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal by Met Eireann which will come into effect this evening. The warning, also extended to Galway, Mayo and Sligo, will be in place from tonight at 9pm to tomorrow morning at 10am.

A Spokesperson for Met Eireann said: “On Wednesday evening and night and for a time on Thursday morning, south to southwest winds veering westerly, associated with Storm Hector, will reach mean speeds of 65 to 80 km/hr with gusts of 110 to 125 km/hr. Winds will be strongest in coastal areas.”
