His journey sparked a major community fundraiser ‘Roccos Road to Recovery’ and he attended a hospital in Texas, US for specialised medical treatment.

Rocco was a pupil of Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana.

The school posted a tribute on their Facebook page this morning, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our 3rd Year student, Rocco. Rocco passed away earlier this morning surrounded by his loving family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mum and dad, his brothers and sisters and all his extended family and friends. May Rocco rest in peace

“how very quietly you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footprints have left upon our hearts”.
