WHITE Oaks Organic Farm is hosting a community open day this Saturday June 21 at 11am.
The open day will be a celebration of sustainability and local organic food.
White Oaks Farm have extended an open invite to the public.
It promises to be a fun-filled and educational day for the entire family.
Local food, environmental responsibility and community spirit will be celebrated at this free event.
Those who attend will have an opportunity to see the brand new polytunnel on the farm.
There are many fun activities being ran on the day, such as:
• Guided tours of our organic polytunnels and growing areas, showcasing sustainable practices.
• Cookery demonstrations using fresh organic produce.
• Face painting and games for children.
• Live music, plant and flower sales, and much more.
• Farm café open serving lunch, treats, and refreshments.
The event will shine a light on the farm’s mission to promote biodiversity, climate-conscious growing, and local food systems.
White Oaks Farm has thanked the Donegal County Council who funded the new polytunnel with the generous Climate Action Fund support. This funding also helped enhance infrastructure at the farm and expand educational outreach to the public.
A spokesperson from White Oaks Farm said “This funding has enabled us to further our commitment to sustainability, grow more effectively, and educate the wider community about climate-smart agriculture. We’re very grateful for the Council’s support.”
