Wheatus to rock Letterkenny this weekend

IT is going to be another big hitting weekend of music in Letterkenny with international superstars Wheatus taking to the stage in No 58, above the Central Bar, this Sunday night (November 25).

Famous for their hit single ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ and a cover of Erasure’s classic ‘A Little Respect’ in the mid 2000s, Wheatus has remained on the road ever since, playing their well known hits alongside new material to big crowds all across the world.

They make a quick stop in their 2018 European tour in Letterkenny this weekend, alongside other venues in Cork, Dublin, Belfast and all across the UK and Europe.

In a relative coup for the town, No 58 venue is certain to be packed to capacity for the show, and at a reasonably priced €15, punters are certainly getting value for their money out of Brendan B Brown and co.

Behind the monthly original music sessions in No 58 is ‘Disturbance’ alongside Central Bar proprietor Mark Blaney.

They have taken a big leap forward following a successful year when the likes of Pat McManus (ex-Mamas Boys), XSLF (ex-Stiff Little Fingers), and South African pop-punk group The Soapgirls packed out the town centre venue over various months, as well as some of the top underground Irish acts to really liven up the original music scene in the town.

A big help to any growing event is the support of local businesses, and the lads at Disturbance have that in spades, with backing coming from Burrito Loco, alongside Central Bar, making sure all acts are well looked after. Support on Sunday night comes from American rapper MC Frontalot, taking to the stage at 9.30pm.

Doors are open at 9pm, with limited tickets left at €15 each from Central Bar, Burrito Loco and online from Billeto.ie.
