A POPULAR West Donegal actor next week makes a very welcome return to Irish television, this time co-presenting a very popular lifestyle series on TG4.

WWOOFáil California follows Gavin Ó Fearraigh and Mairéad Ní Chuaig on their American road trip, as they step out of the studio and into the world of organic farming, ready to get their hands dirty in search of new adventures.

WWOOF stands for ‘World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms’ and ‘WWOOFers’ travel to participating WWOOF member farms to exchange their labour for bed and board.

The third series will consist of six half-hour episodes that will be sure to keep the viewers intrigued as we see Mairéad and Gavin travel from the sunny surfing beaches of southern California to northern California’s cowboy country, visiting an array of unique farms during their road trip, making new friends and learning new farming skills.

Gavin said WWOOFáil has been one of the most enjoyable television shows he has worked on. “Not only did I get to travel California for the summer, you experience this new world as a WWOOFer working on organic farms learning new skills.

“Trust me when I say I learned quite a lot from good to bad, working in extreme heat to whale watching on our day-off,” he laughed.

The new series of WWOOFáil California, produced by Stirling Film & Television Productions Ltd., begins tomorrow night, January 13, at 10.15pm, only on TG4. The programme was funded by the Irish Language Broadcast Fund (ILBF) and TG4.
