West Donegal to come to a standstill on Thursday

West Donegal will come to a standstill on Thursday as the funerals of four young  friends who died in a single car collision on Sunday night take place.

Daniel Scott, Míchéal Roarty, Shaun Harkin  and John Harley tragically lost their lives when the silver Toyota Corolla car in which they were travelling left the road in the townland of Gleann hUallach shortly before 9pm on Sunday night.

The first of the funerals will be Shaun Harkin, Killult, Falcarragh, who will be laid to rest following requiem mass at 10am in Christ the King Church, Gortahork. He will be laid to rest in the adjacent cemetery.

Funeral mass for Míchéal Roarty, Dunlewey, will be held in Sacred Heart Church, Dunlewey, at 11.30am. He will be laid to rest afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Harley, Carrowcannon, Falcarragh, will be laid to rest following requiem mass in St Finnian’s Church, Falcarragh, on Thursday at 1pm. Burial will take place in the adjoining cemetery.

Daniel Scott, Bedlem, Gortahork, will be laid to rest following requiem mass in Christ the King Church, Gortahork, at 2.30pm. He will be laid to rest in the adjacent cemetery.
