Wedding of the Week: Danielle and Declan’s journey from chance meeting to happily ever after

By Tara McCormack

OMAGH natives Danielle Browne and Declan Cunningham celebrated their love in a spectacular wedding that seamlessly blended local charm with a touch of magic.

After a decade-long journey together, the couple officially became “Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham” on August 8th, marking ten years of love with a day that will be remembered by all who attended.

The ceremony took place in the picturesque St. Mary’s Church Drumragh, just outside Omagh, where the couple exchanged vows surrounded by the warmth of family and friends.

The beautiful chapel, with its serene atmosphere and historical charm, provided the perfect backdrop for this special occasion.

Following the heartfelt ceremony, the celebration moved to the stunning Villa Rose Hotel in Ballybofey, a venue that Danielle described as “an absolute 10/10.”

The couple praised the hotel staff, especially Emma and Hannah, for their exceptional service and attention to detail.

“They were so easy to deal with, and the extra bits they included on the day to make the venue look the way it did was amazing,” Danielle shared.

From the decor to the atmosphere, every aspect was meticulously crafted to create an unforgettable experience.

As the couple and their guests arrived at the Villa Rose, a standout moment unfolded when their friend Rian Murphy began to sing.

“The bridal party hit the dance floor, and the energy spread throughout the room,” Danielle recalled, adding that it was a moment that set the tone for the entire evening.

The festivities were further enhanced by the incredible food, which received rave reviews from all the guests.

“All of our guests were saying how good the food was,” Danielle said.

The friendly and engaging staff even joined in on the craic, making the day even more memorable. “Even the staff were joining in on the craic with some of our more lively tables,” she added with a laugh.

The couple’s love story reads like a serendipitous tale from a novel, set in the sun-drenched paradise of Santa Ponsa.

It was there, amid the carefree joys of separate holidays with friends, that Danielle and Declan’s lives converged in the most unexpected of ways.

“I was on my 7th year girl holiday with five other friends and he was on a lads holiday” she added.

Despite the fact that they lived just ten minutes apart in Omagh, their paths had never intertwined.

As if written in the stars, they chose to seal their bond exactly one month after their ten-year anniversary, turning an already special day into an extraordinary celebration of their enduring journey together.

Capturing every magical moment was the talented photographer Darryn Bradley, also from Omagh.
“He was unreal; he kept us right the whole day,” Danielle said.
