Weather warning for Donegal

Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow weather warning for wind and rain for Ireland  until 9pm.
There has also been a Status Orange Marine warning issued by Met Éireann, which came into effect at 6am this morning and will remain in place until midnight.
Given that a Status Orange Marine warning is currently in place, there is potential that the Status Yellow wind and rain warning may escalate to an Orange level warning in County Donegal.
The public are being asked to be extra vigilant along coastal areas and on Islands off the coast of Donegal.
Donegal County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team are keeping the approaching weather pattern under review and will continue to monitor all local conditions during this period of unsettled weather.
Donegal County Council can be contacted during normal business hours on 074 91 53900 and in the event of an out-of-hours emergency the Council’s Road Service can be contacted on 074 91 72288.  For emergencies requiring the assistance of the Fire Service call 999 or 112.
