Weather: Very cold start to the day with sunshine developing later

THERE will be a very cold start to the morning with a few lingering showers slowly dying out.

Sunny spells will break through later however one or two isolated showers will remain.

Rather chilly with highs struggling at 3 to 6 degrees in a cold northerly breeze.

Tonight will be largely dry and clear, turning very cold too with temperatures falling to between 0 and -2 degrees leading to some frost and icy stretches.

Cloud will build later in the night.
