TODAY there will be a mix of sunshine and scattered showers, some heavy, with a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms.

Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in fresh to strong gusty winds, reaching near gale force for a time this morning in coastal parts of the north and northwest.

This evening, these winds will ease.

Tonight, there will be further scattered showers.

Frost and some icy patches will develop as temperatures fall to between -1 to 2 degrees.

A few isolated mist and fog patches may develop.
