MET Éireann and Donegal County Council have reissued a weather advisory warning of a potential risk of flooding due to expected spells of heavy and persistent rainfall throughout the coming week.
The advisory is in effect nationwide from 4pm today until midnight on Monday, February 9.
Flooding is likely due to a combination of already saturated ground, high river levels and high tides.

The forecaster has warned that this combination of factors could lead to further flooding along rivers and in coastal areas, particularly in southern and eastern counties.
Close monitoring of local weather conditions via www.met.ie and river gauge data www.waterlevel.ie is strongly advised.
