MET Éireann and Donegal County Council have issued a weather advisory warning of a potential risk of flooding due to expected spells of heavy and persistent rainfall throughout the coming week.
The advisory is in effect nationwide from 11am today until midnight on Monday, February 2.
Rain is expected to fall on already saturated ground, where river levels are high, and with high tides anticipated this week.

The forecaster has warned that this combination of factors could lead to further flooding along rivers and in coastal areas.
