ALI Farren has said securing a seat with the 100% Redress Party will “send a strong message” to Dublin that it has failed to deliver for people.
Mr Farren was speaking with Donegal News reporter Dionne Meehan from the Aura Leisure Centre in Letterkenny earlier today, where tallies are being counted.
Mr Farren is one of nine candidates contesting one of four seats in Carndonagh Local Electoral Area.
Mr Farren and Joy Beard (Buncrana) are expected to be elected.
“The 100% Redress Party is to right the wrongs of government officials. They haven’t delivered the right scheme, so we will be doing our best to work with whatever scheme there is at the moment to get it developed, to be a strong voice in the council.
“There are a lot of things not right. Redress means to make things better. We will be looking to work with other parties and council officials to make things better for people in my area.
“Ultimately, it is about sending a message to Dublin that the scheme is not right, there’s are lots of things that they could do better. People need them to do better. That vote for the 100% Redress Party is not a vote for me or Joy Beard, it is a vote for disgust at other parties at not speaking up loud enough for us.”
