PLANS for a multi million residential and commercial development in Donegal Town have been given the green light by Donegal County Council.
The development, valued at over 10 million euro, includes over 80 dwellings, a leisure centre with a swimming pool, coffee shop and office and retail space.
The location for the development is at Mullans and Doonan just off the N56 on the Mountcharles side of Donegal Town. The site is being developed by Carnvalley Holdings Ltd and the plans have been submitted by architect William Donoghue & Associates of Mountcharles.
The proposed dwellings will be a mix of four, three, two and one bedroom houses. There are plans for 14 two and a half storey four-bedroom semi-detached dwellings; 38 two storey 3 bedroom semi-detached dwellings; 18 two storey terraced dwellings and 3 1 bedroom single storey dwellings.
Elsewhere on the vast site permission has been granted for 6 two bedroom apartments and 2 one bedroom apartments at first floor level and 3 two bedroom apartments at second floor level.
The developers have also incorporated plans for a single storey leisure facility, consisting of a swimming pool with associated changing facilities; a single storey coffee shop; two three-storey office block and a three-storey mixed use building with retail space at ground floor.
Other plans for the development include a transportation hub with bus parking bays, play areas, parks and public space.
The development is also set to cater for almost 400 parking spaces.
