Water supply returning to customers in Lettermacaward

Lettermacaward Water Treatment Plant is back in operation and the majority of customers supplied by the plant will have a normal water supply restored later today.

Crews worked tirelessly through the night to get the plant back to full operation and the local reservoir and network has been replenishing since.

The majority of customers in Lettermacaward, Dooey, Doochary, Gortnasillagh, Drumlaghdrid, Maas, Portnoo, Rainey, and surrounding areas who experienced a disruption to their supply will have water restored today.

However, it may take longer for those on higher ground or at the end of the network to have a full supply restored.
Uisce Éireann’s Damien O’Sullivan thanked customers for their patience while works at the plant were ongoing.

“We understand how inconvenient an unplanned outage is for the community, and we thank our customers for their support.”

The alternative water supply will remain at Chapel Carpark in Lettermacaward today. Customers are reminded to use their own containers when taking water from the tankers, and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.

Uisce Éireann is committed to keeping customers informed across multiple platforms 24/7 and we encourage customers to engage with us through our website, X channels @IWCare and @IrishWater, and through our customer care helpline which is open 24/7 on 1800 278 278.
