Water quality improvements on the way as works begin in Lifford

Uisce Éireann crews will be arriving in Lifford in the coming days, bringing with them the promise of an improved water quality for the local community.

More than 1km of old cast iron water mains will be replaced along the N15 at The Haw, Lifford, by the end of the year, as as part of Uisce Éireann’s National Leakage Reduction Programme.

Uisce Éireann’s Programme Manager, Patricia Lowry, is looking forward to getting this important project underway.

“Uisce Éireann is working hard to prioritise the delivery of improved water quality in Donegal. We would like to thank the local community for their support and patience in advance as we carry out these essential works. This investment will make a real difference to homes and businesses in Lifford, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient water supply for years to come.”

To safely and efficiently deliver this project, traffic management will be in place in the form of traffic lights. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Areas of work will be limited to short sections to minimise impact, and the project team will ensure that customers are given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice prior to any planned interruptions.

Farrans Construction is carrying out the works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.
