Water outage for over eight hours in Letterkenny

 

Residents and businesses in Letterkenny have voiced their distress following a water outage which is expected to last over eight hours.

Irish Water have confirmed water is expected to be back on around 4pm today, after repairs to a burst water main have caused disruptions to High Road, Ard O’Donnell and surrounding areas in Letterkenny.

This is the fourth time in recent weeks an incident has caused a water outage for several hours. A spokesperson from Irish Water has told the Donegal News that crew are currently working on site to ensure water is back on as soon as possible. 

They apologised for any inconvenience caused and reminded residents to refrain from using washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers. 

A traffic management plan will be in place for the duration of the works.
