UISCE Éireann customers in Rathmullan can look forward to a reliable water supply as work gets underway on a major improvement project.
Uisce Éireann has prioritised over 600 metres of damaged water mains for replacement which will prevent bursts and interruptions for customers.
The utility says the work will give local homes and businesses more confidence and the new pipework will put an end to leakage of treated water into the ground.
Crews will be carrying out this Water Main Replacement along Pound Street and Main Street
There will be a road closure on Pound Street and Main Street from Monday, March 31 to Frida, June 6.
The road will be reopened for bank holiday weekends during this time and diversions will be in place. The project team will give customers a minimum of 48 hour notice prior to any interruptions.
Uisce Éireann’s Programme Manager, Patricia Lowry has thanked customers for their patience while the work is carried out.
“These works are vital to ensure Rathmullan’s security of supply now and into the future, with the long-term benefits far outweighing any short-term inconvenience,” she said.
“We thank the community for their patience and cooperation as these essential works progress”.
