After 45 years of unwavering dedication, Mary retired, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that has touched countless lives.
Mary’s retirement was marked by a heartfelt celebration that truly reflected her significance to the school community.
A special song, written in her honour, named ‘One of a kind’ beautifully captured the essence of her character and the profound impact she had on everyone around her.
For nearly half a century, Mary was the heart and soul of Scoil Cholmcille.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Mary witnessed significant changes at the school.
She worked under five different principals, navigated the transition to computers, and saw the introduction of a new uniform and the shift to co-education.
Through all these changes, Mary’s commitment to her work and her colleagues never wavered.
She provided a sense of stability and continuity that will be sorely missed.
As Mary steps into retirement, she looks forward to enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
Including tending to her garden, exploring new hobbies, and spending time with her grandchildren.
The serene shores of Fanad will now serve as her peaceful retreat.
