Laura has worked with a number of design companies, but in 2019, she stepped out of her comfort zone and started her own business.

“I love designing, creating and thinking up new products that hopefully make people smile and feel a connection too.

“I take familiar objects such as vintage packaging which reminds me of my great grandparents’ shop and play with illustration, shapes and colours to make interesting compositions and patterns.

“I try to achieve an emotional connection with my work and make playful artwork,” said Laura.

Laura says she remains inspired and excited about her business as she is also thinking on new designs and products to add to her list.

Laura said one of her favourite things about her work is hearing the personal stories about where in the world her products end up.

“I have had born in the hills bibs and mugs posted to Australia around Christmas time and other products used in special moments.

“They act as a special reminder for people to stay connected to their home county,” said Laura.

In relation to starting a new business, Laura said it is extremely important to stand out from the crowd and to put your own personal stamp on your products.

“If you are thinking on starting a new business, I would say go for it.

“Follow your passion and make sure to put your own personal stamp on everything you produce.

“Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it,” said Laura.
