Warning to motorists speeding on Four Lanes

Motorists driving on the Four Lane Road are being warned to watch their speed after a number of drivers were fined after being clocked speeding.

Gardaí from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit conducted speed checks on the Four Lane Road between the Polestar and Dry Arch Roundabouts in Letterkenny at the weekend.

A number of drivers received Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for speeding offences at that location.

These drivers will now have to pay a fine of €160 and will each receive three penalty points. The speed limit on the Four Lane Road is currently 50kph while roadworks continue.

A garda spokesperson said: “Please slow down in order to protect yourself, to protect other motorists/passengers and to protect those who are conducting the road works. Be mindful of your speed at all times.”
