Ward on the double as Donegal minors beat Fermanagh

Fermanagh 1-4 Donegal 3-13

Donegal opened up their Ulster Minor Football campaign with a fine win over Fermanagh at Donagh today.

Barry Ward’s Donegal played against the breeze in the first half but Paddy Ward scored two goals and Conor McCahill was also in super form as they moved into a commanding position.

HT: Fermanagh 0-4 Donegal 2-4

Conor McCahill notched a third goal for Donegal in the second half while Turlough Carr and Donnacadh Ó Baoighill were also to the fore.

Tomas Cathcart bagged a late goal for Fermanagh but they will have to improve on this showing when they take on Monaghan next week.

Donegal will be pleased with their win but they will face a tougher test against Tyrone next Saturday.
