Walk-in vaccination centres available this weekend

FURTHER walk-in vaccinations will be available at the vaccination centre in Letterkenny over the next week as the last phase of vaccination roll-out continues.
Anyone eligible for a Pfizer BioNtech vaccine can receive a first or second dose without an appointment at the LYIT centre on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm and from 8.30am to 4pm on Sunday.
This will be the fourth weekend when walk-in vaccinations have been made available in Letterkenny.
The walk-in vaccination clinic will be open to any eligible person aged 12 or over. Anyone aged between 12 and 15 years must be accompanied by an adult, and will need the consent of a parent or guardian before vaccination.
Also, people who are waiting for their second dose Pfizer vaccine may also attend one of the walk-in clinics, once the interval between doses has been reached.
Those attending for either a first or second dose should check hse.ie to make sure they are eligible and that they bring all necessary documentation and photo ID.
Those waiting for a second dose can still attend if they received their first dose with their GP, in a pharmacy or another vaccination centre.
Meanwhile, the vaccination centre at Carndonagh Community School is now closed.
It commenced operations on Wednesday 30 June to support the delivery of the vaccination programme and to supplement the vaccination work being carried out by staff in the LYIT vaccination centre, by GPs and by community pharmacies.
A new satellite vaccination centre is expected to open in Burtonport in early September.
