A spokesperson for the HSE said: “Booster doses are being administered to people aged 60 and older, those living in nursing homes or long-term health facilities and healthcare workers. NIAC has now advised that all those in Cohorts 4 and 7 (regardless) of age and persons over the age of 50 are to be offered a COVID Booster Vaccine in the coming weeks. The HSE are operationalising these recommendations and recognising the need to deliver the programme as quickly as possible there will be a number of settings, including vaccination centres and community pharmacies, for patients in these groups to receive the Covid Booster.

“In most cases, people should get their booster dose at least 5 months after finishing a course of COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone who has had COVID-19 since being vaccinated should get their booster at least 6 months after the positive test result.

“This weekend the Letterkenny Vaccination Centre will be holding walk-in booster vaccination clinics at the following times for healthcare workers and people aged 60 to 69 who have reached the correct interval since their second dose:

· Saturday 27 November, 8am to 3.30pm. For people who had second dose on or before 28 June.

· Sunday 28 November, 8.15am to 5.20pm. For people who had second dose on or before 29 June.
